Low Budget Experimental Green Film Production Short
I had an assignment for my Production Design class at Academy of Art University.  The assignment was to make a video about Green Production Design.

My own personal requirements I set for myself for experimental reasons was to make an innovative film using natural light with no color correction on a zero/low dollar budget (provided that own some basic equipment - Camera, lenses, tripod, fluid head, computer, software) with only the help of one other person.  I wrote, directed, hosted, and edited the short.

My goal was to write, design, shoot, edit the short in 10 total hours or less.  I did it in around 9 hours total time commitment.  The only help I used was for someone to operate the camera in the scenes that I was on camera.  The person operating the camera had never done it before. I did it this way as an experiment in mobile low cost internet video with a purpose.

Equipment Used:

Canon T2i Kit ($589 Amazon) (Rent from Borrow Lenses $42)
Canon f1.8 50mm lens ($99 Amazon) (Rent From Borrow Lenses $23)
Canon f4.0-f 5.6 55mm-250mm IS Telephoto ($144 Amazon) (Rent NA Est $35)
Asus ROG Gaming Laptop ($1654 Amazon)
Sony HD Vegas Platinum Production Suite ($68 Amazon)
Manfrotto Photography Tripod 055ProB ($179 Amazon)
Manfrotto Fluid Head 701 HDV ($133 Amazon)

BTW: I did by lunch for myself and my friend ($30)
Haircut ($30)
--------------
I owned the equipment.
I shot the film in 1080P Native 30 FPS.  The clip above is 640x480P rendering or DVD quality.

Stills are from the video.

"Hi Monroe -
Preserving and destroying at the time is something that we must all think about. It reminded me of indigenous tribes we try to save but contact with us destroys them.

I admire the meticulous planning that went into this video and look forward to seeing it. Production design relies on planning as much as producing does. So I think there has been a connection made.
Pollution, people and noise indeed. We are losing space and preserve it by living in compact cities?!
Job well done Monroe"

"Hi Monroe -

I'm pleased to hear from you.

Your video was well-composed from start to finish. The meticulous planning showed off well indeed throughout. Your producer skills and talent were very evident. Your equipment selection and tech savvy was well-displayed. The precise shot selection and composition was admired as well as your editing and post production. Your on screen persona holds our attention and your comments lingered past the video. This is as good as it gets.

I look forward to any of your future public service announcement if you ever create any. You certainly have the skill to do is a team or another solo effort."
